Join us for our May edition of Film Girlz Brunch!! This is our second year collaborating with Bitter Pops and we are so excited to be in community with you all<3
Bitter Pops has made-to-order breakfast available until 10:30 AM, so make sure you come on time if you'd like a lil hot breakfast sammie + latte. The kitchen will open back up for hot lunch at 11:30 AM, but they do have pastries, cold brew, bar drinks etc. running the whole time.
This one is more of a grab-and-gab scenario than some of our other sit-down brunch events, if that's more your style!! As always, RSVPs are limited so make sure you update if you are no longer able to make it :-)
Last year at Bitter Pops! | A partnership between Rm.19 Productions and Players: A Film Industry Podcast, Film Girlz Brunch was founded in LA and later Chicago with the intention of creating a communal space for women/nb folks in the film industry to come together and meet. Be the first to hear about Film Girlz by subscribing to our calendar on Lu.ma! |

CREATIVITY&COMMUNITY![]() ![]() It was so fun partnering with Chicago Filmmakers’ Mixtape, Players: An Industry Podcast, and Mezcla Media Collective for our first panel, Making Your Opportunity. We discussed building community, Chicago’s DIY scene, and some tips and tricks for freelancers. Our second panel, Finding Your Opportunity, dove deeper into the types of opportunities available in Chicago for filmmakers. We heard from some of your favorite Chicago film orgs like OTV, Chicago Filmmakers, Brain Studios, and the Chicago Film Office! | ![]() The team had an amazing time at our Film Girlz Brunch X Open House event on April 17th! With the help of Chicago DCASE & the Film Office, we programmed six self-produced filmmaker shorts and two career development panels. ![]() |

![]() And as always, we’ve GOTTA plug Players: A Film Industry Podcast. Join hosts Imani Davis and Demma Strausbaugh as they demystify the film industry, one interview at a time!! Check out the latest episode here: | CATCHUPFor our ~podheads~, did you know we have TWO podcasts available for listening??
